Aid must be available wherever there is need – inside Syria, in refugee camps and in urban areas – and all Syrians must be allowed to cross borders to safety.

The arrival of Syrian refugees has strained Lebanon’s services and infrastructure. Host communities need our help too.
As humanitarians, our role is not just to keep people alive. We also have a duty to help restore a sense of normalcy & peace of mind in abnormal circumstances.
Wednesday I met with Syrian refugees in northern Iraq, where 40,000 new refugees have just arrived looking for safety.
Over 6.25m people are displaced within Syria and the region. I will visit Iraq, Lebanon & Jordan, where NRC provides shelter, water, education & protection to 330,000 refugees.
